The Nonexistent GOP Learning Curve
The Republicans fear that Obamacare is going to be a horrible, expensive, and invasive law that is going to destroy jobs. They are so hell bent on killing it, that they have chosen to sabotage our economy and the credit of our country. So, the choice as they see it is, a) wreck the economy to save us from Obamacare, or b) allow Obamacare to go on as is and wreck the economy. The difference is that (a) is a certainty, (b) is not. The real fear is that Obamacare works well enough that the Republican party will be relegated now and forever more into minor political party status. They can't allow that to happen, so the only real option is to sabotage the economy and hope that the American electorate is too stupid to realize it and they can regain the White House. They tried that during Obama's first term and were soundly defeated. Learning obvious lessons of the past is not a GOP strength.
